STINKEN THINKEN STINKEN THINKEN TODAY’S SCRIPTURE So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. - Romans 12: 1-2 The Message TODAY'S WORD I often hear people make comments like, ''Nothing good ever happens to me, I knew I wasn't going to get that job.'' Unfortunately, they get exactly what they expect. ''But Marty, you don't understand,” I hear all the time. ''My health isn't good,'' or ''My marriage is a mess,'' or ''I'm always broke, I just can't make ends meet.'' Or “I knew this would happened to me.”
I learned a long time ago, your life is not going to change until you begin to change the way you think. You may be in a messy situation right now; you may even have some unfair things happening to you. But you don't have to make the mistake of dwelling on those things. You've got to get your mind moving in a new, positive direction. Don't wait to see what kind of day it's going to be before you decide whether you're going to be positive or not. Set your mind right now on living your dreams, overcoming your obstacles and being all God made you to be. Believe God for more, expect good things to happen to you and then thank God when they do. A PRAYER FOR TODAY Heavenly Father, help me to change my thoughts today. To stop listening to negative people, reports, conditions and trends. Help me to focus on what is true and helpful to my life. Fill me with Your Word, Your hope and Your promise and purge all the stinken thinken from my mind. In Jesus Name – Amen!
